Join Us for a Fun, Free Class: Eating Smart, Being Active in Dayton!
Are you ready to make simple, sustainable changes to eat healthier, move more, and feel your best — without breaking the bank or needing fancy gym equipment? We’ve got just the thing for you!
Healthy Communities Coalition is excited to offer Eating Smart, Being Active — a FREE 8-week class series held at the Dayton Food Pantry! Classes will be every Monday at 1 PM, starting April 21 through June 16. NO CLASS MEMORIAL DAY, Monday, May 26th.
This hands-on, interactive class is part of the Eat Healthy, Be Active community workshops, supported by the SNAP-Ed program. It’s designed to empower you with the tools, tips, and confidence to make healthy choices that fit your lifestyle and your budget.
What You’ll Learn Each Week:
🍽 How to use MyPlate to build balanced, nourishing meals
🔄 Easy food swaps to make meals healthier without sacrificing taste
🛒 Budget-friendly grocery tips to stretch your food dollars further
👩🍳 Basic cooking skills to boost your confidence in the kitchen
🎥 Live cooking demos & taste tests — try something new each class!
🤸♀️ Low-impact exercises that can be done at home (no gear needed!)
Plus, we’re making each session extra fun with free giveaways, friendly group activities, and a relaxed, welcoming environment. Many participants even form new friendships that last long after the class ends!
Whether you're new to healthy living or looking for motivation to get back on track, Eating Smart, Being Active is a great way to learn, connect, and have fun — all for FREE.
Who Can Join?
Everyone is welcome! You don’t need to be a SNAP recipient to participate, but the program is especially helpful for families and individuals who want to get the most out of their food budgets. No registration required — just show up and bring a smile.
