Updates:

Yerington Task Force news-
The task force added funding to the student store at YHS to add sales of fresh vegetables and fruits as snacks. The group plans to participate in the annual FASD awareness walk at YHS and organize community events around FASD Awareness Day in Sept. 2011.    

Fernley news-
The Coalition organized and funded a “Get Real” focus group/anti-bullying day-long session with students at FHS this winter. The Coalition funds a Stand Tall team and ATOD prevention events in Fernley, and a Project Success staff person.

Stand Tall-Contact coordinator Lavurne Jeffreys at the Coalition (246-7550) for more information about on-going campaigns to promote wellness and to prevent ATOD use. This month includes school wide assemblies on alcohol across Storey and Lyon regions, and the Weed It Out 419 statewide campaign.

Art in the schools-
The Coalition funded artist in residence Andrea Delphin’s art lessons in Dayton this spring through a Nevada Arts Council Grant.
